    FAQ's

Yes if they are located in Linfield or nearby

All levels: Primary, Secondary (junior to senior), University undergraduates and University postgraduates

I adhere to a one-to-one tutoring approach. In this way students receive the most attention and can ask any questions they may have. Similarly, I am able to recognise the student’s methodology regarding problem solving and can easily enhance their techniques. Groups, in contrast, can be analogous to classes or lectures; students attending groups only receive fractional attention. The very reason why the individual or one-to-one approach is far more effective is that each student will receive optimum or 100% attention

Weekend time-slots are negotiable BUT temporary. More recently parents and students have experimented with reserving weekend time slots on a permanent basis. This has shown to be ineffective as last minute cancellations frequently occurred due to other commitments both from the student’s side and from my own. In summary, my weekend availability should be considered as a final option when no other time slots are open for say, a specific week

$80 per hour for all students, all subjects, all levels

Definitely; (at school level) University students always provide me with the individual topics as set out through their courses where they need help

Of course. My library is up to date though I always welcome any suggestions for any additions

Almost all my students visit me at my home office. However, I have made the occasional visits if and when required

    Basic hours align with school times: 4PM – 6PM and 7PM – 9PM, Monday – Friday (inclusive)

Yes. Many senior high school students have requested earlier afternoon periods. This is easily negotiable

Most certainly! Maintaining a solid communication with students is essentially “keeping a finger on the pulse” or an excellent means of monitoring their progress. I insist that students keep in touch with me to ask me the odd questions that may crop up and to prepare for a more detailed assignment/project. Solid communication mean a solid rapport, essential when aiming for the top

I like to keep parents/guardians fully aware of students’ progress because they provide an excellent input to positively drive students. In fact, many tutoring ventures begin via a tutor/parent interaction which develops to a tutor/student interaction once a rapport matures

A tentative answer for that is yes, as I have successfully aided many such students. However, I use the word “tentative” because, of course, much more information is required on the degree of the challenge we are dealing with
